Danielle Felice Riede

Artist Biography

Danielle Felice Riede is an American artist whose immersive paintings and installations explore movement, materiality, and the sensory experience of space. Raised between the United States and Iceland, she studied at Virginia Commonwealth University (MFA), the KunstakademieDüsseldorf under Daniel Buren, and the University of Virginia (BA). Her work has been exhibited internationally, with solo shows in galleries in New York, Berlin, DüsseldorfandBudapest. She has also had solo exhibitions at the Centre Walter Benjamin Museum in Perpignan, Franceandthe Indianapolis Museum of Contemporary Art. Her work has been included ingroup exhibitionsat major institutions including the Dallas Museum of Art, the Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts, the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the Frost Museum, and the Benaki Museum in Athens. Her work is also included in museum collections internationally.

Danielle is the recipient of numerous awards, including fellowships from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and the Virginia Commission for the Arts. She currently serves as the Randolph H. Deer Endowed Professor of Painting at Herron School of Art and Design at Indiana University in Indianapolis.Her work is included in museum collections internationally
